It's Roger. You can see him introducing the song on the video.

I was surprised by that too. From that day forward, Roger left the stage banter to Freddie and Brian.

Doesn't he say a bit at Hammersmith 1975 as well?

For me, Brian often spoke a bit too quickly and quietly when introducing stuff, and so a lot of what he was saying was missed.

Yes he did. Another point worth mentioning is that JD uses the stage a lot more than he did later, even venturing to front centre. By late 79 he was almost lurking in the shadows!

When I first saw the bass solo and backing vocals on Liar on Rare Live back in the 80s I nearly spat my tea out. Go Deaky!

Has anyone else noticed the difference in sound quality between disc 1 (Queen 2 tour) and disc 2 (Sheer Heart Attack tour). Disc 1 is clear and crisp whereas disc 2 seems somewhat muddy in comparison. Don't get me wrong this is an incredible release and anticipate great things in the future if Houston or Earls Court gets the same treatment and deserved official release. But I am a little disappointed at the sound quality on disc 2, especially with Brian's guitar.

i think that any tracks in BOTH sets sound better on the March 74 disc. not just a muddiness - but also the performances sound tighter and sharper

yes, for example the guitar arpeggio of White Queen of november show sounds darker than the march one, but this is the same sound of the old vhs release

March and November concerts were mixed and mastered by different people. Don't understand the reason. Here's the result...
