I saw Budapest in cinema, it was great. Will definitely go seeing Rock Montreal if they bring it to my country. Although the colour they screwed up for this release bugs me like hell I can't miss the big screen experience :)

I went to see Hungarian Rhapsody in my local cinema and was one of about 5 people there. In contrast, when Led Zeppelin's Celebration Day was shown in the same cinema it was sold out. I can't imagine Montreal will be any more successful than Hungarian Rhapsody, so this is really bizarre.

I went to one-off screening and it was all full. I suppose it depends on where you live and the amount of screenings.

I remember going to see Dark Knight Rises , it was a blockbuster but in the cinema we were only 5 too. Me, and two girls and a young couple. The couple were doing.... things.

That was Bizarre.

So nothing wrong if the cinema is not full, i think, as chief said, it depends on the zone and the number of screenings.

Penetration Guru (nice nickname, BTW), the 2001 was waaaaay better. Hope they fix this awkward colour editing they've done. It looks like some amateur photographer trying to create some sort of effect on his photos. And it did go wrong. lol

----

About Budapest, it was really hard to find it in here, it was like ONE single session at 11pm, in the middle of the week. Since there was only one session, many people were there. But 90% didn't knew even Boh Rhap. Was frustrating. Three guys were at my side and talked THE ENTIRE SHOW, about Freddie's moustache, about their lives and the new iPhone features. Something like that. And the music volume was REALLY low, the guys voice was louder than the show. :/

Well, the 2007 version was released on Blu Ray, that means it is 1080p so quality is better. And the sound is much better on 2007 version. But you can see how they made the colours, looks like they applied some Instagram filter.
You do have a point - 2001 does look more natural because that is how it looked and how it should look. I guess in 2007 they tried to make it different and "more interesting".

Here you can watch a comparison between 2001 Saul Swimmer version and 2007 Queen Productions version:

It doesn't look that blue at all. The uploader must have added his "magic" touch to the video for some reason.

Well Eagle Rock are known to intentionally fuck up - sorry, I meant to say "COLOUR CORRECTING" their releases.
Basically they go to the negatives and scan them in HD - good.
Then they degrain it - wrong, VERY wrong, makes their releases look like waxy shit.
Then they clean it - good.
Then they take the colour blind colourist and let him to destroy it completely.

Here is a nice documentary showing they decided a Peter Gabriel concert needs to be blue : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aZsU-IIvMQ

Or you can see their youtube channel and see lots of videos with completely unnatural colours and waxy appearance.

The press release states that the concert is being re-mastered for this special 4K screening release, so let's hope they've fixed the colours!
