I'm not a bass player, but totally agree. In contributing to the band sound, John was just as intrinsic as the others - a superb and inventive player with a great sound, and hardly, if ever, messed up.

I'd love to know what his feelings are in this release, and the performance of the band.

He is fucking brilliant in these performances, as he always is. Just watching him playing that bass riff on "In the Lap of the Gods". Fucking beast

I'm not a bass player though haha. I'm a drummer.

He was a great, very underrated, Bassist. He always seems to sit perfectly within the sound. Without such a solid foundation BM and Freddie would never have had the freedom to shine like they did.

I have to say that to me he's later live work lacked some of the dynamic playing that is evident in the early years.
