HELP NEEDED: Pro TV footage for a new Queen documentary

We have partial funding, but not nearly enough to fund the list above, with focus on giving priority to pre-1991 material. You are being paid to produce a (new) Queen documentary to be broadcasted in the Netherlands right? Can we just assume that you are not very good at negotiating a good business deal or forecasting certain costs which can stay within budget (INCLUDING purchasing licensing rights), or am I overlooking something?

Don't jump to conclusions, OK? Let's just put it this way: Sikke doesn't set the price for the licenses. The material is owned by different television stations that set their own rates. I've seen some numbers, and trust me they are not cheap!

To answer this my financial loss would be equal to a average yearly income in my country. Unless I cannot sell this format 4 times.

I have the money , my partner has the contacts, we have help even from Montreux and London, but still this is a game about money.

So a good american bloke to the aid, mr. Guilbault told me about fund raising. I never it would, could work for these kind of productions.

In the end we are out of funds : it is up to the Queen community whatever they want to see on this format. We made a deal with Universal, but the terms are that we need to broadcast it at 23-11 this has a lot to do with the thingies which are coming up. If these there wouldn;t be anything going this year we would have failed big time. And we sold it for 1 broadcast already to a nationwide channel in the Netherlands. So if we want to use extra unseen and exciting footage this is all up to the fan community.

I am not being paid, I invest money , same as the other parties involved. When it will be broadcasted 3-4 times I will get my money back. This is not a commercial release. It will cost me money, all of us, calculated this finacial loss. So this is a donotian from me to Queenfans. Though we found some new and exciting thing and it is up to you (the fan community) to make this happen.

I'm struggling how to see this as anything but an official documentary - you have a deal with Universal and it it being broadcast on national tv - but you didn't find out the cost of licensing the material before negotiating the deals with Universal, the broadcasters etc??

I wish you luck and hope to see it myself, but it sounds like a strange way to have approached it.

Very simple :

All recordings doesn't belong to Queen, these rights were bought of at the time they were allowed to film whatever they agreed on. And to re-broadcast it , the rightfull owner (so either RTL4, Veronica, Avro , Tros...etc.)can decide on any price they want.

So if you want the Leiden 86 it is up to the fans..... we are out of funds.,..

Is interesting, how much they filmed of Leiden 86?

Has Canada been annexed while we were all looking the other way?

Can you be more specific on what songs and how much of each show was filmed? And more important: how much of each show will be in the documentary? All the available footage or just snippets?

Leiden 86 for example, sounds nice but if it's only "One Vision" it's not interesting at all.
