After Brian talking about needing permission from the Jackson estate, Roger said something of interest...
Go to 1:43:50 onwards...

The part in particular where Roger says "We did our own mix of this, which you're not gonna hear, sadly, but we think it's marvelous. We think it's brilliant actually..."
It sounds to me like the version Brian and Roger thinks is brilliant wasn't given the go ahead..... and I'd say it was possibly because Freddie's vocals outshone Micheal's (hence the shittier Freddie vocals version has been given the go ahead instead).
What's your thoughts on this?

Seems quite possible - Jackson's delivery is so underwhelming compared to Freddie's, so the tinny sound on Freddie may well be an effort to balance it out.

I agree. My thoughts exactly.
To be honest, I'd prefer they removed the crap mix from the album, but I suppose if they did that then we'd never get to hear the others.
You'd think it would be Jacko's Estates' best interest to have the best mixes available of the 3 songs released as a Christmas single (although they'd no doubt insist on it being "Michael Jackson ft Queen" (cheeky fuckers). They'd double their sales figures I'm sure.

Does make you wonder if they took as much care of his affairs in life then we may not be in this mess.
Of course I'm talking about...

Which is a completely dishonest representation, as on the original demos, it was Freddie with the strong voice, and Micheal Jackson sounding like Mickey Mouse in comparison.

I'd prefer it if they just put a new updated backing behind the Mr Bad Guy version, and just fucked off the Jackson vocals altogether.

But that would mean less money!

Hey Jefffab1995! 'It's been so long, we miss you all." "Have you missed us?" Fred in the Rainbow.

One more reason to don't like anything Jackson related. Brian and Roger shouldn't use that song. Siimple.

«It's only a bloody record, people get so excited about these things» >Freddie Mercury - 5/6/1982

Freddie never said that about ANATO, for example. :)

This is ANATO? Or this is just fantasy?

but they couldn't leave it off the album, especially when everyone knows that MJ was Freddie's favourite weirdo.

Agreed:
If what we heard is the final mix (mix I believe is not) then I would rather prefer a Freddie only version.
