Here is the next chapter in the ongoing Queen Fanthology project. This time it’s the Hot Space album! As usual the download below contains all the chapters published to date, so throw away those old versions because this is the only one you need!

Download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1-OyfOo0NLvTzRUQ0Y1NHJYWFU/edit?usp=sharing

As well as adding a new chapter I’ve also made some updates and corrections. One update to check out is the Japanese single version of Flick Of The Wrist, which is different to all other versions of that song. Despite being released some 40 years ago I think this is the first time that version has been documented.

If you want to stay in touch with the project then please like my new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/queenfanthology. I’ll be using this page to publish updates in between new chapters, post features on some Queen releases that contain interesting versions of tracks, and keep you up to date on the project in general.

As always, if you have any information I am missing then please get in touch, and happy collecting! If anyone is at the convention this year, see you there!

As always, I'm here to nitpick:

Two other studios were used for the album, both in New York: Atlantic and Power Station.

Staying Power was produced by Queen, Mack and Arif Mardin.

Action This Day hasn't got a synthesiser solo; it's a sax solo played by Dino Solera (uncredited)... unless you mean the arpeggiator break, which is indeed a synth and is indeed longer but it's not a 'solo' per se.

Other than those minor mistakes, great job, as always!
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Confusion might've come from the fact that it was played on synth in all the live versions.

Good read, overall :)

Thanks a lot!

Just noticed the incorrect duration of 'Ogre Battle' standalone version from Deep Cuts and 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' 2011 instrumental remix.

Quite timely due to the debate about HS elsewhere on here. As always with these, I now want to go back and relisten to the album. Good work.

PS didn't the extended Staying Power have extra guitar work around the middle?

Oh and the 'demos' listed are technically 'work in progress' recordings rather than actual demos featuring unfinished versions of the actual final versions - possibly from the early sessions for the band to hone the material and mislabelled by bootlegers.

Why is I Go Crazy in the rumour mill? Wasn't an instrumental version confirmed by Greg coming from Hot Space played (and recording) on a convention?

Maybe I am being stupid, but I can't get it to download. Every time I try it says too many people have viewed it (or something to that effect). Could someone advise me what I may be doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

It's a simple copy/paste, hit 'enter' link.

Since it is a pdf, if you don't have Adobe, perhaps that is the problem.

btw......enjoyed reading the FG and HS updates. One always learns something new from work like this. Thanks.
