After 1995 the only 'new' tracks we get are an awful rendition of TMBMTLTT, that everyone who has already heard the origional demo, knew it would need a miracle to save it. Then, Love Kills, which not even the hardcore Queen fan liked when it came out, as chart positions show.
Then we get the other one, I forget it's name. Which wouldn't have even made a decent B side, when the band was going. But as far as I can see, this is the only real new track. So after 19 years, is that all our beloved Greg has found?
I can understand the Forever album, hoping to introduce newer fans to the band, I get all that, in the way Queen Rocks did. But there are some dreadful choices on it. One question I have is why 'You and I' isn't on it?
OK, they have no more stuff left, well why not redo Queen songs, modern them up a bit, Rock them up a bit. Imagine AKOM more like the live version or IWTBF, with Electric guitars, instead of the whimsical acoustic guitars in them. Now I am sure if they did that and with a host of other songs, even non singles. It would sell more than this new album would, or is it cos I prefer old Queen and therefore out of touch?

It's all games about new releases, money comes first no matter what, people need to realize that.
Even sick of BM and RT interviews about the "vault" crap lately about how they find mislabeled stuff, etc, please save the bull sh_t from
now on. Rainbow is the best release in the last 20 years, i'm still surprised it even happened.

Fair enough if you don't like it, but that's just factually incorrect:
It was released in September 1984 in the UK on the same day as Hammer to Fall; LK reached No. 10, HTF only got to No. 13.

wasn't this a task that was to be accomplished by (an equally useless compilation like) DEEP CUTS a couple of years ago? :D

Reworking old material is one thing... but reworking old classics... Are you insane??? That's a terrible idea. The thought of Roger and Brian going wild without Freddie and John's input is terrifying.
Mad The Swine? Maybe... Perhaps a psychedelic reboot for the modern age. Hangman? Definitely. I Want To Break Free? Don't be ridiculous. It's a standard, and best left well alone.

In case no one would have figured... I'm down for a "modern" version of Mad The Swine.
Not 'cause I like the song or anything.

Speak for yourself. I've always adored that song. One of Freddie's finest.
Then again, I don't care what Freddie sings. If he'd sung the telephone book i'd still buy it.

I'd forgotten mad the swine ! Ye a rerecorded version would have been perfect for the album, as would see what a fool etc, I would have been a lot happier with that, so long as Brian didn't make a hash of them ! As for Greg's work being finished, I doubt it, hopefully he will have more live archive material to find, and eventually work on a Queen archive project with all the demos/unreleased material, then the fans can finish them off.

@horse feathers "okay, they have no more stuff left..." wrong, my friend. As it has been stated once on this forum by Greg himself, apart from archiving, he and Gary "present" audio and video material which they think is worth releasing but some things are discarded by BM and RT and at the end of the day it is up to them what will the final product contain. This was the case with Freddie's box set, the deluxe remasters etc. He always stated that if it was up to him and Gary, then these releases would be different.
Remember the uproar here on QZ which was caused by the miracle 2011 remaster ? Do you think that Brian or Roger read this forum ? I believe that we can be thankful to both Gary and Greg that the tracklist on the second disc of The Miracle has been changed.
Also it has been said by Greg that if they'd release finished tracks which are collecting dust in their archives than we would get two full CDs of "new" tracks and also couple of bonus tracks. If we were to assume that it's true then releasing all of this isn't reasonable from the Universal point of view ($$$). So either they will really release album full of unheard songs or we will get from time to time compilation with "new" songs.
Personally I don't think that during those 3 years they've only accomplished to finish/rework 3 songs. It's like... what... a year for one song and on top of that the mix of one of them was discarded (by MJ estate) ?!

Could you explain? I wasn't around for this - what was the tracklist going to be originally, and what was wrong with it?

If they're only interested in re-hashing and cashing in on that, I'd rather see a b-sides and 12" mixes release. I reckon quite a number of people would buy that.
What I *really* want is a 2cd with the full BBC sessions.

The b sides are available on the 2011 remasters, and the 12" collection came out with the original Rainbow box set, so so I'm not sure they'll be huge demand for that??

3 years ago there was a complaint about the bonus content on the The Miracle 2011 deluxe edition bonus EP. Fans were not satisfied with what was on it and it started raining complaints (the bonus EP initially consisted only of b-sides to The Miracle released a year ago on the Singles Box-Set [2010]. Shortly after "Invisible Man" demo with RT on vocals was added.
