Of course i may be wrong and ultimately im just guessing of course, but my take is that now Freddie has gone i dont think they will feel easy releasing a song under the Queen banner without all four members playing their instruments. Or perceived to be playing their instruments anyway. I dont think we'll see a new Queen released song with just say Mr Mercury playing all the instruments. If they did want to release a song like that theyd strip it down and start again like Made In Heaven. But then thered be no John there...............and then the question would be: would that be Queen? There seems to be a push to say that Queen were a band, a band in the truest form, and releasing a song with only 2/3 members involved may muddy the waters a little. It would be like The Beatles releasing a song without Ringo and Paul McCartney. Or a new Nirvana single without Dave Grohl. I think you can do that if they are all alive and in the group, but once its being released posthumously its a different matter. Of course this is just my opinion though, and my mind can change at a moments notice

Well The Beatles released "Free as a bird" long after Lennon died!
"Time is but a paper moon"

In all fairness it was a cassette recording. Probably from a portable room player

Ok, let's get it right. Greg did mention the band were looking at some old songs, but he mentioned Face it Alone and I Guess Were Falling Out. He didn't mention Robbery or Dog With A Bone.

With that being said there was an interview from the past two years where Roger actually name-checked Dog With A Bone as a track he had forgotten they had done but was a fun track so they (or at least *HE*) was looking at it semi-recently :D

Very interesting that Greg Brooks mentioned this. Now you would think that he must have had authority from Brian and Roger to state this as fact.

I wonder if it's just to keep Queen fans happy thinking there may be more unreleased material in the pipeline after the somewhat lukewarm response to there being only 3 'new' songs on Queen Forever.

We all know Greg has made some statement in the past that haven't come to fruition. That's not his fault I suppose - it's the bands decision ultimately what happens but I wonder how he feels about the approach QP takes sometimes? I'm sure he wants us to hear as much of the material he's located over the years as we are.
