well now we know theres a tour on the horizon, i thought it was about time to upgrade my recording device, ive been using my iPhone with a lossless recording app for the 2 acoustic tours that Brian did with Kerry, but i remember using the camera way back the first time i saw Brian in 2011 at the Anthems tour and i was at the back but of course the bass and drums messed up the sound!
My question is this! has anyone got an Olympus LS-12 or something equally as good and used it for a queen gig? whats peoples experiences with the internal mics?
Cheers guys and sorry for the rambles!

I have an LS-14 which was gifted to me. I had intended on recording the full Queen + AL show in Inglewood.
However my brother was VERY ill and I debated even attending the show after 2 months of hospitalization.
I went cause he would have wanted me to see SOME of my favorite band perform before retirement.
Its such an ugly ordeal losing him that I haven't bothered checking the HALF of the show I DID attend (had a floor ticket months in advance, purchased a closer one a The DAY OF near the cat walk)
Needless to say I couldn't enjoy it and was a drained physical and emotional mess.
I recorded some of it taking into account INU'S suggestions. It may be possible to properly adjust levels.
I haven't shared because Im not sure I could properly mix it. I believe there already may be better recorded versions available online
I recorded with all the microphones in sequence
I was surprisingly shocked at the volume of the show. It was as if I could hear everybody's conversation (band volume was low at the floor)
There seem to be no distortions however my recording is a bit low.
When I get a chance I'll send someone a partial edit or a song or two if you'd like. I hadn't and STILL haven't thoroughly gone over the options and usage on my computer.
I couldn't bring myself to even listen to it (that was July 3rd)
Anyways. I'll share a snap I took nearby.
The recording doesn't sound bad at all. I had only used it prior for band rehearsals. Upon inu's suggestion at low volume I didn't utilize the LOW FREQUENCY pass.
:-/
The few shots I took didn't turn out so well. I also didn't want to ruin the experience by shooting

Matt, if you can privately upload your recording and send it my way, I will work my magic. I've got a few Q+AL and QE recordings to work on anyways, so if I can do yours at the same time, that would be gold.

Any suggestion for a free upload host?
I have no idea how large the file is. *files. I only broke recording before the "encore"
When I get a chance to mess with it I'll give that a shot.

Mega. ..... man? ....3?
(It had the best soundtrack ever.)
Pm me. About that. Hopefully I'll remember to read it. But you as an archivist of sorts, of course I'll find a way to send it your way.
But like I said, the levels were inexplicably LOW.
Last time I'd been to a concert so low it was for old folks. It was a shitty gig George Thorogood played at the Greek.
I could hear the conversation three rows away.
The Fanship were old women PREEENING off of Lambert. Hardly any attention to anything "QUEEN"
American idol did it's job.
The real fans were in the cheap seats

Hah! ;)

Sadly this the experience I find: the more obnoxious, less classy folk are in the cheaper seats. Had two annoying chatty women next to me when I went to Elton John 3 years ago for instance and you could hear it on the recording -_______-

ah guys what can i say thanks for the tip!! and yeah i know what you mean mate, i did a recording of Brian and Kerry at Scarborough on the recent tour and even though it turned out to be the best recording ive ever done, can't help but feel annoyed at the usher with her bloody high heels on a polished wood floor... yeah u know what i mean haha
not forgetting of course the highly annoying moment in Newcastle, when an usher leaned over me to tell the guy 2 seats away to turn his flash off... right at the beginning of last horizon, which is very clear for everyone on the recording!
