Freddie in bed with his cats at Garden Lodge in the autumn of 1981.

Garden lodge was a building site in '81, Freddie didn't move in properly 'till later, if I remember rightly.
Guessing '87 ish.

This picture appeared in "Freddie Mercury an intimate memoir" by Peter Freestone and the info is "Freddie in bed with his cats at Garden Lodge in the autumn of 1981". Maybe he is wrong...

i would say that pic of freddie was taken in october 1991 when he took to his bed.

1991 but not that late, rather than 1981. Just look at him and you'll see 1981 isn't possible.

Peter Freestone states that when the book came out, the "1981" caption was a typo, it should have read Autumn 1991 instead. So probably October/November 1991. He also says in the book that after Freddie returned from Switzerland on November 9th, he spent most of his time in bed..although it could have been from (just) before he went on that trip. I wouldn't think it would be any earlier than September 1991. As I say, most likely post-Montreaux.

If i remember rightly freddie had a very quiet birthday in 1991,
and his mum & dad were told not to attend as freddie did not want them
to see how ill he was.
So.... the picture must have been ocobert 1991.

This picture was not shot in the autumn of 1991 ... This was made at the end of 1990/beginning of 1991!
