Just watching Status Quo playing tracks from their acoustic album, how cool would it be if Brian & Roger did this sitting on stools with an orchestra and backing singers, playing the hits and album tracks on acoustics, I think it might really work and breathe new life into some of the songs, Bri has done it with Kerry Ellis and it worked, so why not ? What do we reckon ?

Don't think Brian's voice is really up to it any more* but an acoustic album done in the studio might be nice.
*yeah I know he's been doing some acoustic songs live on tour with AL but, let's be honest, his voice is really strained and weak these days.

Roger could probably still pull it off, but Holly's right about Brian. 6 years ago he was still going strong - now, I think it's past the point of this being realistic.

Over the past week, I've also watched the acoustic Quo gig and also Robert Plant at Glosto presenting some re imagined Zed Zeppelin songs. I enjoyed both and wondered if Queen could do either. My honest opinion is I don't think it would work for a full gig. Although I'd like it too.
I think so much of the magic in Queen is in the sound, BM's guitar and Freddies voice. I think it works live because BM's guitar still provides so much of the recognisable sound. But if you take that away, and not having Freddie's voice I think the established Queen sound will be gone.
I enjoyed the Kerry Ellis acoustic tour because it was completely different and had little relation to what a Queen audience might expect
What I think would work maybe would be to go the other way and do what Metallica did a perform plugged in with an orchestra with the addition of a number of singers and baking singers.

I agree about Brian's voice, but if Roger did the majority, and some guest singers, it could work, and I'm sure at some point Brian would plug in ! He couldn't resist it on the Kerry Ellis tour.

Not sure about this idea. They could obviously search their catalog and they would find songs which would suit the acoustic formula nicely, but I do think it would be an unusual set of songs. Besides, rest assured they would get AL involved. As long as he is on board, they will exploit him.

Plus, Brian's never been particularly imaginative on the acoustic, excluding obvious candidates of course.
I don't know, it's certainly something I'd love to see (having a particular fondness to acoustic stuff) but I can't see it being extraordinary. Plus, they will surely slow Every. Song. Down.
I have no interest in that, If I want to see that, i'll look up ukulele covers on youtube.

I think some of us, musicians, with the Multitracks we have today (for BoRha for example), and recordings from us, we could create some nice Acoustic versions.
We have a lot of Vocal Only tracks floating around from a lot of Queen Songs ^^
I think it would be a great idea ^^

Agreed - let's not forget they HAVE already done this to a degree, with 'Love of My Life; ''39' and 'Dreamers Ball' in a mini acoustic rig set up on Live Killers. They have also played 'Say Its Not True' in its original acoustic format, and 'Is This The World We Created..?' Its success (or failure) would come down to the choice of tracks.
