Am I just 'late to the party' in noticing that there have been a number of live video tracks uploaded to buy on iTunes, from gigs such as Paris 79, Morumbi 81, Houston, Earls Court, Japan 82 etc...?

I downloaded that videos from The Hub. Anyway, they are there since the 2011 remasters were launched.
Don't forget my collection of demos and outtakes: http://goo.gl/uQARhn PM me if you want any [leaked] multitrack. Ya se ven los tigres en la lluvia.

They have a video of Freddie singing You Take My Breath Away in Earls Court. He sings in the piano mic obviously, which it has been said they don't have the isolated sound from. But if they consider that good enough to release, why wouldn't it be possible to release the rest of the gig anyway?

Because that video was originally released as some bonus material, not an actual stand-alone release.

True. Bet someone like C_Matt could get it up to scratch though.
