That is not a statement by Queen or anyone connected to them. It's Red Beard's into to his interview. There is a difference.

k-m I think the good doctor needs to clear out his ears - Mercury the better singer by long long country mile. Besides Adam Lambert is a young man and doesn't chain smoke like Freddie did in the eighties. Adam Lambert is okay but cannot stand his voice at the top of his register.

Queen have sold over 300 million records world wide which is something to be proud of been a Queen fan!

From looking at some very good estimates of sales data by people who check this stuff over a long time, I believe if we include album sales AND singles sales Queen are the third best selling band of all-time WORLDWIDE. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones sold more. Not bad when they had most of the 1960s to sell in as well and Queen really didn't start their record sales until 1973.
Good doctor forgot that nodules prevented Freddie from using full capabilities of his voice.
