Indeed, some of the more recent games have actually outsold the very first line of games on launch day! That would have never been expected 10+ years ago. The anime series and movies are also still going pretty strong too.

PS. Queen related comparison here: If you thought the anti-Q+PR or anti-Q+AL fights were bad, believe it or not it was unimaginably even worse when the Pokemon USA company yanked the anime dubbing license from 4Kids in 2007 and all the voice actors had to be replaced because of non-compete clauses in their contracts with the latter. Our resident NYC correspondent tsskiller can vouch for this too.
