He did. I once saw a UK ADATR tour book signed by Phil Collins. Genuine autograph.

Story: the owner went to see a Queen show ( Earl's Court 77 I believe). Phil Collins was in the audience too. Guy had Phil Collins sign his Queen tour books since he had nothing else with him to sign.

"Freddie is a one off, i guess too many people like him" Phil once said in the 80's.

Phil Collins attended one of Queen's shows in Sydney, for the Works Tour.

He is also reported to have visited the band during the innuendo recording sessions, think I read that in a fan club magazine at the time.

According to You Tube comments its about Don Myrick.
Don Myrick played the saxophone on many Phil Collins songs, including the solo in One More Night. He was killed around 1993 in an odd incident on a police procedure. This song was for him.

so what was Don's illness mentioned in the song,and what did they hide

According to Ratty's book, Collins was in Dallas, I believe, at the start of the JAZZ tour and wanted to check out the new lighting rig the band had.

Just from looking at the lyrics, it kinda sounds like it might be about someone struggling with a drug or alcohol problem, but not admitting it............


edit: and wikipedia says the guy was shot during a narcotics investigation..........
