Of course I personally didn`t know that much about the US conventions but if you`re that close...go there...
A lot of places have trouble to organize a covention or a fan Day without screw themselfes finacially.

Greg, I believe you were the one that I gave my spot to in Detroit for the trivia finals (I'd won the previous year, was high score in the prelims, and wanted someone else to 'enjoy' the thrill/agony). I believe you got a Staying Power UK convention tee out of it.
All cons come with the good/bad. The Thursday night when so many show up and catch up and reacquaint always seemed to be the most enjoyable. Many will travel to local bars/landmarks on Friday and Saturday. A special video/bootleg or five is worth it, along with the Saturday morning Queen 'market'.
It's a worthwhile experience.

Hmmm, I don't think that was me you gave the spot to. I remember doing alright on the trivia, but someone else got a nomination or something!
