Anyone have a link to that clip I saw years ago.........where someone was interviewing Freddie, and said something about him being the leader of Queen or it being HIS band or something to that effect.....Freddies response was along the lines of "no I'm not the leader, we're four equal guys"

Someone should show gerry that....lol

While I agree they were essentially equal, I don't think Freddie saying that proves anything. They were public figures, so they often said things that either made them look good or deliberately alienated the press, or whoever.

It's like Brian being asked who was a better guitarist between Slash and himself and replying Slash was... of course he'd say that, what do you think the press would've made of him claiming to be better, even though he most likely was?
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

king of rhye: i only said Freddie was the most popular member in Queen. Sure they are all equal as band members but Freddie
was always the one to get interest in the group.
He is by far the most interesting band member.

Probably a good point there, Sebastian...........like how athletes or coaches say good things about the other team before a game......and the few times they say something uncomplimentary, then its like huge news......lol

Oh, really, gerry???? All you're saying is that Freddie's the most popular?????

Sounds like you've claimed more than that, in this very thread!

Freddie deserves to be in the lead, he was the one who done all the hard work in the band and
getting the crowds excited. Freddie is the king of Queen![/QUOTE]

That's saying more than that he's the most popular member of the group!

I can at respect someone's opinion that I don't agree with, if there at least consistent about it, and they have a smidgen of logic to back it up...........

Really? So what did the others do?

If you were talking live gigs, when you say Freddie "done" the hard work, BM was the only band member who was on stage from beginning to end at any of their gigs.

Then of course there was RT, do you really think Freddie's job was harder than playing drums and singing BV's

As the bands statement read after Freddie had died, " We have lost the most beloved member of our family" i.e Freddie.
i was not talking live gigs just about Freddie popularity in general.

Ok explain this comment, if you not talking live work, then what?

Well just discussing popularity of the band members in general.
Freddie is the favourite of the nation so really no argument over that one is there!

I recall Roger saying he realised what an easy job lead singers have when he fronted the Cross.

Ludwigs: Freddie was the Tour de force in Queen!

Brian, Roger & John were very fortunate to have such an exotic intelligent flamboyant singer in Freddie, and so that is why he is the greatest member in Queen.

Call me crazy, but that's different from saying "Freddie was the most popular" (which we are NOT arguing with, by the way....)

Daydrop: Roger was not running all over the stage for 2 hours like freddie used to do sweating his bollocks off.
Freddie worked bloody hard on stage.

I'm no drummer, but I'd guess playing drums and doing backing vocals for 2 hours might qualify as hard work........

Exactly that ^^^^^^

As a drummer who plays (no brand of drums.....cattle once again?) Gezza would obviously know how tiring playing a set for 2 hours would be over a singer seeing as he is a drummer by musical bent - oh wait, RT did that too.
