I apologyse if this topic had already been discussed...
I know both of these tracks for a few years, but only the other day I've noticed this...
Is it just me or Kirk Hammet's guitar part on Bass/Guitar Solo of the official release of Metallica's live show at Mexico City '93 (Live Shit - Binge & Purge boxset) is very similar to the one on Brian May + Friends' Blues Breaker from the Star Fleet Project?

They're both generic 12 bar blues patterns, but beyond that there isn't much stylistic similarity.

Yes I've noticed that. The rythm os blues is basically the same. I'm sure your ears are much more trained than mine, although I find it similar. A couple of friends of mine found it too.

they're getting warm stepping into the blues. not much of a intended similarity here.

They both suck a bit at playing the blues -- although Metallica sucks a bit more than BM. That's where the similarity ends.
