I don't really frequent the Announce section of the forum at all, and only pop in there every few months or so.

Have I missed anything decent?

I'm not a fan of live stuff at all, but every now and then a new gem pops up there.

The last genuinely new and significant thing I remember seeing was the AKOM Townhouse demo tape, or possibly the alternate Cool Cat demo.

Has there been anything like that that's leaked in the past 6 or 12 months?

^ this is really the only significant Queen thing to leak out in the last couple years.

It's a working version of Keep Yourself Alive, which ultimately proves correct the claims that there were 5 different studio versions of the song (not including De Lane Lea, which would make it six).

The question of *how* it came out is an entirely different matter...

Since it comes from a debut album acetate where all the other songs are identical to the album versions, the only logical conclusion is that KYA was the final song completed for the album. For people into the history of the band, this is a pretty substantial piece of information.

Also - one of the recent versions of the Rock Band game included Tenement Funster and Long Away, meaning someone ripped the multi-tracks and we more or less have the master tapes of these songs (and about 30 others) at our disposal. This stuff is pretty monumental as well.

The site owner isn't doing anything about it, so this quick fix is the best solution we have for now.

Was this shared here?

Yes it was shared in flac, but the sound clips, just as the youtube one does.
The link I shared is now dead.
Do you want me to upload it again?

There was also an early mix of COOL CAT, with the Bowie vocals, in studio quality. That was a pretty major leak.

Cool. Thanks! Completely missed it when it was first shared.

Nice to hear an alternate version.

It's interesting to hear that that extra high harmony on 'alive' was an idea early in the process of creating the song, not just something they threw into the 'retake'.

this is by far my fave take on KYA. Love the acoustic guitar sound all over it

So is this the KYA version that Brian May loves? I'm confused :P

Isnt Brian's favourite just the De Lane Lea demo? That's my fav anyway.
