Does anyone have this? Readers might remember me asking about 8 track issues of albums and raving about 8 track quality so I was interested this has been released. Any views on it / reviews?

It took me four years to stumble on your post, sorry I'm late! 8 track used 1/4 inch tape and split this into 8 tracks on the tape (4 programs). In theory this means that the quality is probably on a par with cassette tape (1/8 inch tape split into 4 tracks). Although eight track had a higher ips ratio, it had other issues, usually associated with head alignment. Then then was quad8, a whole other story. This guy explains things rather well:

I recently sold my player and a load of tapes for big cash.

I'm still intrigued about the bootleg rip of Live Killers.

Sorry, I meant to add this link to my previous post (I'm using a mobile).

Funny read as it loses a bit in translation!

Yeah that was where I found out about it originally. That translation still scans better than most official Queen sleevenotes :)

"That was wanted in the front of the Keep Yourself Alive If you’re thrust to Side B was, it may be said that it is unreasonable process anyway".

What have you read about 8 track quality? Surely having magnetic tape moving over a head causes hiss regardless of different types? Even DAT had its flaws?

Every album you listen to from the 70's was originally recorded on magnetic tape!

But some of them sound like a bootleg chick somehow.
