I know this is not exactly what was asked but as it is the only Deacon thread... I think he is a great bass player, however always wanted to know why he so often seen in gigs licking his right hand fingers?

Probably for smoother playing?
^^^^ he used to wax his strings, being mainly a finger style, as opposed to a pick player, maybe this helped produce a smoother less abrasive feel on his finger tips, so yeah he think the finger licking was part of the same thing.
I might just have to say "Bring Back That Leroy Brown". I never thought that'd be the answer to any question that would ever be put to me, but there goes.

Milliionaire Waltz I would pick as well, though this guy does a really good job showing off John's ability to use the whole of the fretboard and come up with some really good and interesting stuff. :)
