Great share, queen footage from 9:00 onwards.
Haha. Queen Live in Rio on the works?

Never thought I'd say this, but that actually makes me want a new release of Rio, with a re-edited and remastered picture and remixed audio.
Freddie sounds wonderful on the Under Pressure snippets there!! :-)

That's definitely January 12. Mercury was in great form that night.

Indeed ! Great find.
The audio mix is the exact same as on the very high generation copy we've had for years, so it's a cleaner version of that. Great to see this footage is still in safe hands.
Any chance someone could rip the video (www.keepvid.com) and share just that little Queen portion?

^ New tip: You can download portions of YouTube videos with http://www.clipconverter.cc/
But for you, I downloaded it from that page, and I uploaded it to MEGA. It's in 720p and 60 FPS.
PS: If brunogorski or any brasilian/person who knows portuguese can translate what the interviewed people says, it would be great.

What i found amazing is how the first night sound better than the second but they used most of the later for the release.

Or how the soundcheck sound better than both nights! And it wasn't used officially!

Likely the tv station transformed the old analog '2 inch tapes to digital format. Great chance for QP to save a huge amount of bucks and get a decent copy for future release.

Most likely, ask for the tapes of both nights and the soundcheck and let their great engineers do the work themselves.
But the fact that the original tapes still exist are great news. Too many oportunities lost, like Budapest and Munich.

I've read somewhere (beg your pardon... it was a long time ago, can't go into details) that Queen were the only band authorized to officially release the concert in some form. So they legally acquired all the original masters, or direct transfers, in 1985 by a fact. They have both nights (audio/video) stored in their archives and only need to remaster the all thing to make it look and sound better, and I think they could really do a remarkable job considering the "It's A Hard Life" live in Rio bonus track for the 2011 version of "The Works" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzivecZE4R8) and the video snippets presented in "The Great Pretender" DVD/BD (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arVda4t1et4). By selecting the very best of both nights (preferring the first night, of course, and leaving 4/5 songs for the second) and giving the all thing a new improved audio mix I think they could make a GREAT release. Remember that this was a very important gig and deserves the right amount of respect (first big rock festival in South America and Queen were headliners, biggest audience they ever played for...). In the blu ray they could also put on both nights in full plus extras like interviews, soundcheck, tv reports.
