Well, they're back in the game. Don't think they'll win, though. It's not even a real sport anyway...just wait until the rugby starts this weekend ;)

Well, they did! Who'd have thunk it?

I thought Seattle was going to pull off the comeback for a minute there.....even thought they still had a slim chance after the interception, cus maybe the Patriots would have ended up taking a safety....(and I SO wanted to see the little-known 'fair catch kick' come into play.....lol).....but that encroachment penalty put the kibosh on that! Good game, anyway!

And I have no sympathy for you being nervous, Brenski....just be glad you're not a Lions fan like me........LOL

Why americans use an armor to play rugby?
· Member since
Are there problems with people having concussions in rugby? Even with all the 'armor' they wear in the NFL, that's been an issue.......(and look at pictures of players from the early days of American football..they used to wear a LOT less padding!!)

Still I wonder if anyone even knows what I was talking about with that 'fair catch kick' thing.....lol........if there hadnt been that penalty and NE took a safety, that would have been the perfect occasion for it.......

(actually I think that rule's a throwback to rugby or something)

American football is lost on me lol. I watched some of it, and the atmosphere was awesome, but I'm not understanding it other than 4 points for a touchdown and 1 extra for converting. Seems adverts dictate stoppages....

Which would have been a nice chance to see a Drambuie commercial :p

Major sports in the US and Canada summed up in a single sentence.

That's 6 pts for a TD, by the way.....:P

I can actually understand most sports......even was able to figure rugby out.....(basically its American football but with no linemen and no forward passing)

Cricket makes no sense to me whatsoever, though...lol

Typo :p - I did pick up it was 6 pts.

The other thing I don't get is how a touchdown is scored without actually touching the ball down.

Cricket makes no sense to me either lol.

couldn't believe it - thought it was all over

i called it as "all over" when Patriots needed two scores and two "stops" .

then when the Seattle "catch" happened my "resistance and denial" turned to "calm acceptance".
then Seattle call "that pass play" - bonkers - with a guaranteed short-yardage expert on the field.

bloody amazing stuff...... #seattledeflated

Thistleboy...yeah but the TD does kinda work as it's more of a "touchdown" as in "landed"

if you want to talk absolute rubbish terminology why is a score in rugby called a "try" ?
ffs - it's a a success or it isn't....try means attempt...

on that basis, in rugby you should get 5 pts every time you get the ball close to the line - cos you have "tried" lol

That whole 'inflate-gate' thing (which I presume you're referring to?) just made me laugh........for one thing, they kicked Seattle's butt, so the footballs didn't really make a difference....and also, I bet there's little things that go on like that all the time, but never come to light........cant remember em exactly but I've heard of the grounds crews of baseball teams doing weird things to help the home team.......

I get way more ticked off about a player doing something dirty or 'unsportsmanlike',,,,,,(I still hate Claude Lemieux, and that was from something like 20 years ago....lol)

(hockey, to those who I proabably totally lost there......lol)

The Patriots have been accused cheating three times in the last 15 years. The Patriots were fined for "Spygate" in 2008.
