People are every critical when It comes to Queen (Roger and Brian) + Adam Lamber I was a first but more and more im kind of getting used to it. Would it make a difference if John was still around in the band?

it would make a difference for us. it would be much better to see John playing the bass onstage. it could also make difference in presentation of the show as John would participate in decision making, rather than do what Brian/Roger tells him to do as is the case with the current bass player I suppose.

I suppose the difference it would make in the public eye (or the hardcore fans eyes) is that it would be the whole original band. While John isn't involved there is a contingent of people who believe that Brian and Roger have no right to tour as Queen without John.
In the wider public eye, it seems to have made no difference as the tour has sold exceptionally well, and Queen seem to be back at the top of the touring game after 30 years - being taken seriously as a band. The PR tour didn't garner as much respect as the current tour.

I don't believe it would make any difference. The people who don't want this, don't want this. The fact John is not there just gives them a little more ammunition.

If John Deacon was foolish enough to stand on a stage with Brian May, Roger Taylor and Lambert then it would make not a scrap of difference to the fact that Queen have lost the magic as Freddie was a very special ingredient to the group. Freddie was the voice of Queen and no one can ever deny that.
Glad Mr. Deacon has common sense to stay away from the Queen line up of today.

John's bass playing is definitely missed. He was amazing.

Jesus, how many fucking accounts does this tosser have exactly??
To answer the question, it probably wouldn't make up for having a replacement for Freddie to anybody still upset about that, but it would unquestionably be a better show.
Not that it is a bad show now mind.

But yeah, I agree with Bad Seed, those people just can't appreciate anyone else singing with Queen, and if John was still in, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

For me it would be Queen with John, his bass playing is missed, but this current show is fantastic, and Adam Lambert has won me over,
Don't know how long it'll last, but more power to them :-)

I think John was dearly missed in The Cosmos Rocks. Brian is not a bass player.
In a live situation, it wouldn't make much of a difference. Perhaps we wouldn't even have a bass solo if that was the case (Now is this good or bad? depends on your taste... I kinda like it).

When you come to think of it, other than dragon attack and son and daughter, the bass solo over time is largley derived from songs by Freddie. Where possible, these highlight the great lines that Deacy added. So, in many ways, another way where they both are acknowledged during the show.

I agree with miraclesteinway that the broad public view wouldn't change much. It would matter a great deal to me, though, and I'm sure the same's true for many fans. Knowing John approves would make it feel much more right. And of course, his bass playing is freaking exceptional. I've no problem with Neil, he's a fine bassist, but he's just there to fill in the role of that instrument. He can't even nearly compare to John.

I think he is right. The write ups have been way better and more abundant for this tour. The press really love Lambert.
