I saw that Freddie made this quote about Billy Idol "Is Billy Idol doing a bad Elvis pout or was he born that way?"
Does anyone know where this quote was made and if there is a video of him saying it?

i thought he's managed a few good tunes in his time... and what little you know Gerry - he's from the 70s - Generation X - "Valley of The Dolls" "King Rocker" "Dancing With Myself" and "Kiss Me Deadly" - his solo stuff also had some nice tunes:
"White Wedding" "Eyes Without A Face" "To Be A Lover" "Don't Need A Gun" "Catch My Fall" and "John Wayne"

His guitarist Steve Stevens, is pretty good too.

as for the "pout" it started off as a "snarl" (Gen X) then progressed to the "pout", but these days the hybrid snarl/pout "snout"
had evolved into a confused look of "where did i leave my car keys?"

He was never really one of my favorites, but yeah, he did have some good songs........and Steve Stevens is a hell of a guitar player......he's on a whole bunch of other people's albums, too! (I did know he was on "Dirty Diana" but I had no idea he played the "Top Gun" theme! cool)
I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye

Stevens was picked over Eddie Van Halen to play the guitars on the Top Gun theme if I remember correctly. Did a great job on it too, IMO.

I saw Billy Idol recently, not my idea but I went along with it. Pretty standard rock show but he has plenty charisma and a handful of good tunes., and guitarist is decent but didnt particularly like his tone

Idols snarl and other facial expressions were pretty funny/entertaining. I think he knows that. Well I hope he does anyway.

Thanks for the responses. Does anyone know who Freddie made this quote to or when he made it? I just came across it on the web but it didn't have a source.
