My track is just a capture of the vox harmonies. They haven't been mixed in any way yet so this is the reason for the big jumps in volume. Like I said it's a re-visit of the piece I did many years ago. I am yet to add piano, lead guitar and lead vocal.

Bo, your piano is great!![/QUOTE]

Ludwigs, your harmony vox are insanely good. Fabulous work!

(Still not sure if you're talking about volume issues on my track or not (as well) though!).

And thanks for the other kind comments guys.

Thanks a lot Bo. I assumed you were noticing the obvious volume level parts of my rough vox harm track?

Just listening again thru headphones cranked up. You have captured the piano tone very well.....and it's a very impressive performance.

Suggestions:
3:12 - just before the quiet mid-section....there is a nasty volume cut/spike/noise that needs addressing
6:30 - I think the high rolling licks/embellishments could do with being louder.

Over all - fucking great!!!!

3:12 - yeah, when I abruptly cut the main part, I got that spike. Don't quite understand how cutting something can create the effect of more volume, but will look at fixing that somehow.
6:30 - think that was a first take that I never bothered to revisit for some reason. Could definitely be improved to be fair.

I do fancy doing another song like this, but I can't really think of anything that compares and seems worth doing. Most/all of the other piano stuff is either not that interesting, or has piano parts that are either already available in multitrack or can be easily heard in the mix.

Any suggestions?

As soon as I'd made my post I thought of ITLOTG actually. I transcribed the intro about 12 years ago and posted it here, but never actually recorded it. So I think yeah, that'll be next.

Fairy Feller I kind of recorded years ago, at a similar time but never posted it. Maybe I'll revisit that after.
