Sorry mate, but for me this thread is about ten years too late :)

Oh, like many others I started with simple Rock, later we add some alternative styles, Electro-Rock...actually we tried almost
everything that was suitable for us in various formations.
m-a-y-b-e I will add some sound files later....but I will do some censorship I think :)

^ They were called The Censorships? I mean, for the pic.
Add the mp3/FLACs if you want, or upload them to YouTube without making the video public.

Ok, just a snippet :) But I think it`s enough that the QZ armchair critics will have their way with it.

"Great" is something different... I prefer "acceptable", but of course thats just my opinion.
...as for what happened...
LIFE !!!! That`s what happened...you need money, you get older, you have children etc.
Actually it`s all about MONEY, MONEY, MONEY...uh and I lost my focus on creativity at some point I have to admit ;)

Great is comparing to a lot of amateur bands. Obviously if we compare your old band to Queen or any other professional band, obviously the latter wins.
And about money, life sucks in that way. :/

OP. I get "this video is private"
I was curious.
Btw. I am currently in a defunct band. Ailing band member abd MY tenuous financial situation seem to be inhibiting it. As well as an aggravated personal mindset after the death of a loved one.
I'd say it's on a long hiatus.
Piss poor production on a demo album a few years back. The guy recording and mixing it had terrible ears. That and it was mostly ONE TAKE.
I'll share mine if others share theirs. (Certain feelings of embarrassment) ... eh it was mostly for fun

Ahh fuck it. Nobody has responded to this post in 5 days. I was looking forward to it
Instead I'll just share the first bit of songs we did.
Believe it or not I activated a forceful ROCK bit towardsthemusic and actually got the band to gig pubs etc but it was unsuccessful due to envy and theft and limp favoritism. The end product sounds pitiful in spite of some good performances
Nobody said being in a band was easy.
1/2 the songs that I didn't write the lyrics for (most) were about smoking and drinking so I kept a lot of my good ideas from being mutated by hangers on. (So called rap "artists") and generic crap most wanted to do with some melodies I had. Years after I can accept that some of the rhymes were clever enough to fit the two rap songs. But NEVER melodies I had. Why waste a melody if someone isn't singing?
Anyways. I think ONE song benefits from them but mostly it was a cluster fuck because of mismanaged studio expense funds.
The recordings show it (all MY parts and the drummers were ONE TAKES ... terrible)
Me: bass guitar on all but 2 (sipping on 40'z and the incredibly poetic "I wanna get high")
Ftr: I joined for the old 50's style song "every time I see your face"
If you've got patience enough to listen feel free to criticize. I'd really appreciate it. Truly.
Time is ripe for honesty.
These are old songs. We used to ding up clubs around Ventura and north Hollywood. Sometimes the energy got people up and dancing *(that's good! )
Please continue this thread. I know that one of the fellas here covers guitar licks all the time. I'd love to hear people's original music.
Even if it means sharing some pretty poorly recorded and mixed recordings of "our" own

The band
^
I'm the guy in the white tee laughing.
Too bad it didn't last
For the record. I only think that 5 of the songs are worth a damn. Even the "I wanna get high"song with proper mixing.
Feedback on this old Turd if you could. I'd really appreciate it it'd help me make my decision to continue or not.
Alternatively it'd be me on bass or guitar with a drummer and singer/guitarist doing originals at clubs. For who gives a shit.
If you have a song in you then get it out. You'll enjoy the time
