Hi,

Today I was reading the booklet of my Queen in Budapest bluray and in one part it says:

"Unfortunately, the rushes of the concert no longer exist, so it wasn't possible to re-instate the misssing fragments and songs".

What it means? English is not my main language so I don't know what "rushes of the concert" means.

Thanks in avance for your help.

Cheers.

It means that rest of the film is lost, so they couldn't edit the concert - it is the same edit made back in the 80s.

"Unfortunately, the rushes of the concert no longer exist"

Its frustrating though because its unlikely they were purposely destroyed. More likely they were just mislabelled or put in some video archive in a drawer somewhere in the world and no one knows exactly what/where they are...

Rushes here refers to the first film prints they made of the concert.

Oh, thanks for the help. Now it frustrates me, they could have skipped pointing that out in the booklet.

Why not including such a big hit like AOBTD in the final cut?

WTF!!!

it was necessary to point this out because many people were requesting this concert to be release in complete form...

This is one thing I don't understand
because the version they played in Budapest was one of the best of the Magic Tour.

We can only wish.

Apparently the Hungarian government actually tossed the footage in the mid 90s.

...and if you believe some stories, after contacting QPL to see if they wanted to buy them too, and they said no!!

Oh how I wish they'd have left some of the edited out tracks in rather than having the 'band at play' inserts, or Brian's guitar solo!!

I have the 80's version of the show but I never compared it with the 2012 release. Do they have the exact same footage?

Yes.[/QUOTE]

I heard them say in the comments that in the 80's version the intro from "Now I'm here" was cutted out so it's almost the exact same footage.

I've heard something similar too... I'll check it later.

I think you're talking about Rock Montreal, right? Brian mentioned in commentary track that they were able to "restore" the visuals of NIH intro (they used various crowd and stage shots I think).
