I used to detest ANATO and hated Bo Rhap just as much back in the 80's when i discovered Queen - they just didn't fit my musical tastes back then: I was all for Queen's heavier stuff.

Always an album that was shunned for the most part in the 1990's too, I remember being disappointed to discover that DTS Entertainment had just created a 5.1 surround mix of it (why not QII I cried!), and that it was being played in a specially set up room at UK Queen Convention that year.
I went back twice more that weekend to hear the album come to life all around me and then when I got home I went out and bought a surround amplifier, a DVD-Audio player and 3 extra speakers JUST to be able to listen to ONE album, and an album I'd previously detested at that!
Of course, I had to buy the album from America as it wasn't out in the UK at that time.
I then bought a manual speaker switcher and rewired my system so I could turn off the front and rear speakers at will and listen to them individually. It wasn't that much harder to use that same set-up and connect those cables to the analogue input of my PC and capture the channels and burn them onto normal CD so I could listen to the channels in my car or at home without the need to get the surround disc out.

Sadly Mike Stone died in 2005 and Brian posted a long piece on his website that basically said they were about to revisit the QII tapes and give them the same treatment.
Damn shame it never happened and the surround release schedule effectively died at that point :(

Funny, I almost never listen to God Save The Queen. Basically it's a track I don't care for at all. Interesting how it can be one's top third pick from the album. Each to their own :)

Songs I don't like from ANATO:

1) God Save The Queen
2) Sweet Lady
3) Seaside Rendezvous
4) Love Of My Life (It's a bit fussy... much prefer the live acoustic versions)
5) Good Company

Exactly.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.
