QUEEN - WBCN FM, BOSTON - JAN 21 1976 radio interview in NYC-UPGRADE

Here's an upgraded version of the interview I posted a few days ago. I invested in a better USB audio interface and the quality is now much improved.

Hi all - This was previously shared in shortened form by The Real Wizard (and it's also on YouTube). Here is the full interview (minus the songs played between the talking).

The interview takes place in NYC, January 21st, 1976 but was broadcast on WBCN FM, Boston. (I'm not sure of the actual broadcast date). It's six days before the start of their US tour and over two weeks before they'd actually play a gig in NYC.

The origin of the tape comes from a guy named Steve (I forget his last name) that I met on the night of March 25th 1991, when I saw Brian play with Les Paul at Fat Tuesday's in NYC. After the gig we took some photos and one was of Steve and his friends and Brian. We exchanged information so that I could mail the photo to him.

A little while later he contacted me and told me he'd found a recording from the WBCN, Boston radio archives, where he used to work, and sent along the tape I've uploaded here.

I failed to mention it the first time, but the interview was conducted by Maxanne Sartori, a well-known Boston DJ in the 1970's.

Many thanks ! Just played it and this is brilliant. Audio quality is excellent (pre-FM?). This has got to be the best share of the year (or even past few years) ! Mr Ghostwithasmile could have achieved the number one spot if he had shared his version of the 76 Hyde Park video but sadly that was never to be. So, Kamenliter, thanks again and congratulations on being the frontrunner ....

peckery, about the best share of the year, with all due respect to Kamenliter, have you listened to Anthony's Sun City part 2? Or Ghostwithasmile's Bohemian Rhapsody video?

Kamenliter bought a sound card for a better sound, Anthony bought a faster processor for encoding MP3, and Ghostwithasmile commissioned a transfer to promote his collectibles. Who is #1?
