These are my standards:
*Not insanely popular, like Bohemian rhapsody or Another one bites the dust
*No instruments required
*Good for the crowd
*Fairly easy to remember

If you mean for a SINGING Contest, then Killer Queen, STLove, Save Me, I Was Born To Love You, TSMGOn, Crazy Little Thing Called Love,...

If you mean for a SIGNING Contest, then Action This Day, The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke, Was It All Worth It, Who Needs You, ... (depends on what you want them to sign).

I was thinking about TSMGO earlier and lol, i certainly do not mean a signing contest!

Whichever you can sing well. I personally can't do most of Queen material because Freddie's natural pitch is too high for me not to mention the high notes which I can't do in my dreams.

Is this an arrangement for YOU or for a choir?

Also. Performed WITHOUT any instrumentation? Without a backing track? Purely Acapella?

Given your parameters 3 & 4 it'd be even harder to suggest something.

For a broader audience it'd have to be a rock song otherwise you may get strange looks.

It will be me singing solo and i am planning on singing a Capella.

Well. . Then I can only say it's a bad idea.

Without instrumentation the rhythm in most songs would be inaccessible. Without the choral parts some songs would be drastically altered.

My only suggestions would be limited to

Dear friends
Who needs you

And the only two that would be ideal but strange to hear

Is this the world we created. .?

The second poster had a good point about CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE.
Unless you can pull off a total Acapella ONE YEAR of LOVE it would probably be the best choice.

1. A good crowd will play along with you if you kept time snapping your fingers

2. Some might sing "ready Freddie? "

BUT. ... always a big butt (;-))

You'd have to scat sing a convincing solo bit and THEN find an appropriately NEW arrangement to finish off big towards the end.

The song's harder than it seems but not the hardest by a long mile.

I hope you find a good option. How much time do you have to prepare?
