That's actually a really nice song. I think Mika is a bit of a hit-or-miss artist, with great songs (Billy Brown, Grace Kelly, Over My Shoulder) and really crappy ones (Big Girl, Lollipop) mixed together. Last Party is absolutely lovely, though!

I have never heard the story that this song is based on? Apparently when Freddie found out he had AIDs, he went to a nightclub and had the biggest party ever?

I don't consider it likely, but it's a good story and makes for a good song. That's really all that matters - this is not historiography.
