I couldn't tell you, but I know that Live Aid suffers from that as well (both the 2004 DVD and the 2007 Rock Montreal version

EDIT: Did they re-adjust the prices? The super deluxe bla-bla edition is now priced at $129

I'm surprised nobody mentioned how when Freddie Sings "I don't want to die" it sounds different from the bootleg version (less rough)

to me it's the same vocal phrasing, the only difference is the voice clearer in the trailer

In the trailer there's a vocal overdub @ 0:22. Here we go again.

It's true, you can hear two voices of Freddie, but I don't think is an overdub.
In the old mix (before 2009), you can hear a single voice singing that piece (beautifully, he hits a high note in "made"), so actually there's no need to overdub it, so I think that double voice is some sort of echo from another microphone.

The second voice is Brian (you can see him at the mic). But he was out of tune at the show. Either they autotuned it or replaced it with another recording of his voice from who knows when.

I don't recognize the voice of Brian here... if so, it was better they lowered it to zero as in the old mix

I've not had time to compare but the new version of Bo Rap seems a lot easier on the ear. On the original broadcast he was way off, this version doesn't sound too bad at all.

Whether it's autotune or overdubs, I'm not complaining.

I think it isn´t an overdub, because for me it sounds the same as the 2009 version, or even the previous ones. The only i know is that the sound was cleaned completely, because of that we hear it so smoothly!!! I´m so "hammy" with that release, haha!!

So they proved it that they've made a brand new restoration and it sounds excellent.... Also I don't know it's due to the autotune or fiddling around with vocal tracks but the Brighton Rock bit in the trailer sounds so melodic !

Freddie's vocals were so very tampered with. I don't think it's as bad as Rainbow, though. The guitar brought up in Bohemian Rhapsody adds an extra layer, I think, so I like it. Early versions of Bohemian Rhapsody weren't as good as it would be in the later years, so I'm not that excited for it as I am for the Brighton Rock/Son and Daughter medley.

I can't say anything about the video quality because my eyes are the worst you can imagine.

What second(s) is that at? I can't hear Brian anywhere.

In Now I'm Here, Brian does a (pitchy) lower harmony on "new man" and "made me live again." It's been patched up for this release. It's low in the mix, but it's there. You can see him running to the mic at :19 in the trailer.

His vocal at this spot was muted in the 2009 BBC mix, but his first chorus vocals were fixed. I'm sure they'll be fixed for this release too.
