So Brian is very complimentary about Freddie's input, no signs of the the conjectured internal jealousy concerning who did what , by the arseholes on QZ.
Humph.

You can be complimentary and also be jealous.

Now, I've got no idea (and cannot possibly know) regarding whether Brian's actually jealous or not, but it could be argued that sometimes he *sounds* as if he's jealous, which doesn't change the fact he could also have admired, befriended and cared about him deeply.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

I agree with Sebastian....one can have much admiration for another person or their talents and abilities and it can come across as jealousy or envy . Only the good doctor knows the answer to this and sometimes one can be In a bit of denial about such things. Most likely, the truth lies somewhere in between.

Also have to say that it was most likely the same on Freddie's part as well. As well as the others....such a talented group, it seems we always admire ( envy ) the talents and good attributes of our friends, family and colleagues.

That's true. Simply put, each one of them could do a lot of things the others couldn't, and vice-versa (obviously).

Exactly ! I find as I go through life it always astonishes me to learn things that others admired about me as I always admired things about them.I recently attended a high school class reunion...I was astonished to have so many of the girls that I had always admired , ie envied , and felt somewhat inferior to come up to me and tell me how much they always envied me for my talents and accomplishments ....well, alright, I guess always being fashion forward isn't really a talent or accomplishment , but you get what I mean .
Admiration, envy, jealousy...I think there can sometimes be a fine line there. And I am sure those feelings were not exclusive to any one band member .
And then I believe that one can admire and envy someone's skills and at times it does cross that line over into jealousy for however long a period of time that lasts.
It's just human nature to me .

'If they say "Why? Why?" Just tell 'em that it's human nature.'
