I got a response from my local radio station anyway!

There has been more interest here in suggesting that Paul Rodgers gets blown up.

I made certain to sing it at the pub I work at. And made sure to tell people it was 40 years old that day, to which no one really cared

At least on youtube you can find the first broadcast of the song by Kenny Everett:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p1-5q_IIA0
It is told that the tape from which this share came wa sowned by Freddie.
Best regards,

That's really fascinating, and it confirms what Kenny said a few months later: he played it *twice* on his Saturday programme. Then, presumably, he played it *twice* again on Sunday, adding up to *four*. Not *fourteen*, but *four*.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

Apart from the fact that Bo Rhap was still officially unreleased at that time, was it unusual for a song to be played on the radio four times in two days in 1975? Nowadays, you can easily hear a song four times in a single day but what was it like back then?
