I've seen shit releases over the years but this is just so weird. The frame rate is questionable which make everything look like a fast moving lego piece and for some reason has a small amount of motion blur which makes it hard to look at.

The audio hasn't changed its this weird muffled audio instead of the "Young Nobles Of Rock" source, just don't get me started why.

The release of the concert is same old same but JESUS CHRIST!!! The Wizard himself has worked his arse with the footage found at the "Stormtroopers in Stilettoes" exhibition, we are aware that In The Lap Of the Gods, Son And Daughter Keep Yourself Alive, Stone Cold Crazy and Liar exists in the archives.

The bonus materual isn't worth anything, that all

It was shot on film, later transferred to PAL video, that's why it played faster. The PAL tape was later converted to NTSC while preserving the incorrect speed and merged the fields for the 2011 release, that's why the movement looks so unnatural. I haven't seen the current release yet, but I assume it will be identical to the 2011 release.

Come on, did you honestly believe they will use a bootleg audio source even if they don't have anything better ?

Actually there were more people involved, but I am also shocked they didn't release this. I mean we KNOW they have it - they have shown the footage on the exhibition. It's really lazy. And I can't still get through the fact that they didn't include a bonus CD with the full soundcheck and instead have given us 1 song on vinyl only in the ridiculous boxset and a few seconds of a second one on the documentary.

It was pretty disappointing after the damn great Rainbow release. I hope they will learn from this and give more care to Hyde Park

Its very unlikey that we will see a Hyde Park release due to the damaged film and the songs Sweet Lady, Bohemian Rhapsody and Ogre Battle being in high quality
The Who once restored an entire concert using amateur footage and bootleg audio, so why can't Queen Productions do that?
Sorry, what? What's the source for that ? What film ? The show was videotaped with multiple cameras, the footage from different cameras is publicly available. And in pretty good quality. Also official releases include great looking Keep Yourself Alive, Liar, The Prophet's Song...

They couldn't do any "fixes" and for some reason they're afraid of releasing something which doesn't have lots of overdubs.

News to me........ Never been done through Trinifold.

If what you are referring to is The London Coliseum film, it was released as a Bonus Disc to the Kilburn show and used professionally shot 16mm film; Lambert & Stamp having used a small number of cameras which could only hold 12 minutes of film apiece and not having lit the stage for the film to be properly released....... The intention was to use it as a reference for the band with the idea that they WOULD properly film a show that year. Other UK dates are purported to have been filmed on this short warm-up tour for the US dates that were to follow but there has been no evidence to suggest any of the tapes survived. I would guess that they were lost in the flood at Kit's venetian home......

As for the audio, it is NOT bootleg audio. It was recorded to two track and, again, not intended at the time to be anything other than reference for the band.

If it's not the Coliseum show, which one are you referring to?

I think he was referring to Houston 1975 possibly?

>I think he was referring to Houston 1975 possibly?

Nope - again, no bootleg material used. A mono soundboard recording to accompany in-house CCTV cameras.

Perhaps he was referring to Led Zeppelin's 2-disc DVD and mistakenly accredited that shower of shite to the greatest live rock and roll band.

Yep... a 70 concert release that only a couple of years ago the fucking chumps here were crying out for and now here is Hammersmith and people are whining. If I was Queen productions I would fuck you all off and bury the whole archive under the sea.

^ this.

Not every release is going to be as great as Rainbow.

I'm just happy that there's more 70s Queen in the shops.

76-79 stuff will be next. Keep your pants on, folks.

I'm quite happy too. Ok, it isn't the best release ever, especially for the bonuses, but I quite like it. Let's hope for a better-finished Hyde Park release.

I'd think it's more to do with the half-assed attitude QPL seems to have when releasing this stuff. We know they have more of the Japan 1975 footage, why won't they release it? We know they probably have more of the soundcheck audio, why won't they release it? And why do they put the only thing from that soundcheck to a ridiculously priced deluxe edition exclusively? And why the crappy cover, that looks like it's been designed by an autistic kid? When people don't get answers they'll whine.
