Thanks for the post. I hope someone can archive all this stuff before it's yesterday's news and has to be accessed by payment/subscription like the David Richards article no one can seem to find

Wich article you are talking about ? If I remember correctly
The Real Wizard shared that article about "The Miracle" production on QZ. An Interview about "Made in Heaven" is also available...shared it myself I think.
thx for the Link :)

Well. As I'm far beyond my fanatic stage of the band and don't have an archive. .. I think it was an article in SOUND ON SOUND
Maybe someone DID share it here

Yes I think that one was about the "The Miracle" production.
I think it appeared a few month ago on QZ...
Wow, the RollingStone Magazine is writing about Queen, albeit somewhat indirectly? I was always under the impression that RSM did not bother much with covering Queen for some odd reason.

Oh, they'll cover Queen. Usually in some shitty way.
Even with the Wayne's World story above, they made sure to include a link to their 'Queen's Tragic Rhapsody' article.
And, even with THAT story, they did not bother to mention the article on the cover of the magazine for that issue. I would have had no idea it was even there but a friend brought over their copy to show me something else and I noticed they had something about Queen inside.
To me, Rolling Stone usually blows raw monkey. This was a nice change of pace.

I've always wondered what was RS problem with Queen. Perhaps someone could provide color on the subject.

Yes. Jann Wenner was a closeted homosexual who came out in the 90s, and ordered his magazine to lambaste Queen as a way of overcompensating for his obvious gayness. That's why macho guys like Bruce Springsteen always got 5 star reviews even if it for the7th album in a row that sounded the same.

Plus RS is, was and always will be a joke when it comes to reviewing albums. If I have the time I will do an epic takedown of Dave Marsh's review of Jazz. Written with a vindictiveness of a high schooler whose girlfriend dumped him. Worst review in history of music.

lol, I encourage you to do so, since your second to last sentence was a masterpiece.

Here is a great example for RS/ Queen journalism :)
