I have a feeling that 2016 is going to be huge though and fans of archive studio boxsets will be very happy...
...Which band are you referring to?
We already know it isn't going to be fans of Queen, as the Queen boxset isn't going to happen.

Stole our money and ran away. End of.
It isn't actually stealing if they just ask for the money, and you're stupid enough to give it to them.
That's how QP can stay in business.
Thanks God I wasn't stupid enough to give it to them, but some people were. It's just a bloody rip-off.

A bit of sarcasm from me there really!
I know we aren't going to get anything great this year - it looks like another jam-packed year of Queen+Adam Lambert again 'a la' 2015.
Even 'Live At The BBC' boxset with all the BBC sessions on there would be a nice surprise this year (and surely this wouldn't need a lot of work and effort to put out?).
I did think years ago that 2016 would see the start of the Anthologies. This was based on the naive view that Brian and Roger would be looking at their 'bookend' projects to finish off their career, also 25 years would have elapsed since the official end of the band in 1991, much like the same length of the time between The Beatles splitting up and their anthologies being released (1970-1995).
Daft I was I admit it - we'll probably get a re-release of Queen Rocks or 'Absolute Greatest - the extended bits that should have been on the last edition but weren't!'

Oh, I guess I didn't realise it without a smiley... I thought you were one of those people who actually do believe it. :P

I suppose Queen Rocks would be pretty ideal, but it does need a few more songs from Brian. ;)

You've raised my expectation now with The Beatles comparison - Queen seem to copy everything they do from a release point of view but about a year behind, so fingers crossed!! ??

Sorry cmsdrums - I shouldn't have raised your expectations! It was just a thought I had about 5 years ago when I thought (logically at the time) that 2016 would be far enough into the future for QP to be putting this stuff out there. Surely they do know the demand is there so why not I thought (naively).
They seem to be releasing live material at the moment, which isn't a bad thing in itself, but I just feel most of this stuff should have been put out a decade ago following on from 'Live At The Bowl' in 2004. We have had some decent stuff though on the 2011 remastered deluxe studio albums and we got an unreleased song in 2014.
Just seen that Greatest Hits is at number 49 in the US billboard charts this week and charting well all over the place - whilst there's money to be made in their hits collections QP don't need to do anything else!
