this version drove me to tears :')

I wish they would have left that final, traditional Freddie 'arm swish' (it's at the very end) in the officially released version.

That move is SO, classic Freddie, and I think it looked really cool in the video.

But at least we get to see it in this version.

He also did the typical guitar/arm movement around Brian his solo. He was so sick and so frail but he still wanted to move!

Great video! The John shots are pure gold.

Brilliant. Though I read a long long while ago that Brian was added at a later date as he was with the Brian May Band? Was that true? If it is I think the giveaway is at 1.45 - shaky part of video with John, Freddie and Roger - looks like they were put on top of the Brian part.

Very enjoyable and emotional version of the video. Unfortunately a lot of great touching shots were not used in final version.

Actually this montage work is very rough with a lot of 'bad' crossfade moments.

Lovely to see the different shots - fantastic footage of John. Would love to see a Rhys Thomas edit from the rushes.

He was actually in the US doing a radio tour to promote Innuendo. Brian hadn't formed his band yet by this point.

But indeed, you're right - he was superimposed into the footage after the fact.

As for the video itself - wow. That just destroyed me.

I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for everyone in that room to create that. The new shots of Mercury and Deacon particularly can only make you wonder what was going through their minds. Every line of that song brings a different memory to each band member's mind. By far, this is the best song Roger Taylor ever wrote.

Not many people create something knowing it will be their epitaph, but surely everyone involved knew this was precisely that.

There is no Don't Try So Hard video from October 1991, folks. This is clearly the last Queen video. Just look at them. That's all the evidence you need.

And there are multiple takes too I gather - not just of R,J &F performing together, but each individually a few times for those close up shots.
Freddie really DID give his heart and soul to that recording session.

I had to wipe away a few dust particles that got into my eyes while I was watching this, which caused them to water a bit. Yep, that must be it ...

Basically blind em and deaf em in the first 10 minutes, and while they are recovering from that put in the less good songs
