Thank you, and thanks to your uncle too. This was how it was donne in the old days - a VCR with a tape in place, just in case. Then, if by chance something of interested started on TV we just pressed play and started to scream at the VCR for it to start record ASAP, because usually it would take about 10 secs or more for it to start recording. The good old days :-)

Yea, my parents recorded something on UTV/ITV that they sent in about my birthday, the reporter read out the birthday and names of the people. They said they were worried it didn't record in time, but I have now converted the tapes and discovered they're 100% perfect! :)

If only everything was so simple as to what it was back then.... :)
