If I already own 1975-12-24 Hammersmith Odeon DVD "pittrek edition 2009" is there any reason to buy the new commercial version on Blu ray?

I'm not one of these fans who buy everything with the Queen logo on it. I don't have any of the compilations or greatest hits, for example.
But these 70's shows are clearly brilliant choices and two great releases. Even if "A Night at the Odeon" wasn't as luxurious as "Live at Rainbow" is still a solid show. Queen Productions finally made the right move and we should support them.
And remember, the possibility of Hyde Park, Earl's Court and maybe Hammy '79 is there. So maybe the best is still to come.

Only if you want to send them a signal that live releases from the 70s are welcome.
I bought the Blu-ray (and only that), simply to have it and send that signal. Considering I bought the "Limited" edition for the Rainbow release, that should speak to the quality of this release.

Why not get both? That way, you can have two different versions of that concert for your viewing pleasure and you're also giving QPL the heads up that you want to hear more 70's gigs in the future (especially this year hopefully)

I've ordered it. I guess the real question I'm asking is it an improvement? Based on what I've read on the forum it sounds like the video is the same and the audio is an upgrade. Is that the consensus?

I think the audio team did a good job. I can think of bands with far worse live releases in terms of soundquality and adjustments that were done to the raw tapes.
My biggest regret concerning Queen is that they don't throw in some random audio only concerts for us fanatics. Even if it were just a decent stereo sbd of things like LA'77, Crazy tour concerts, South American concerts, ... even more Magic tour concerts (Freddie was so good in Leiden that hearing 3 uncut stereo sbds of those shows would be a blast for me.

I might be a bit harsh but I just don't like some of the sonic choices they do. I'm grateful that they are finally releasing 70's stuff though. Yeah I'd love those audio gigs as well. I mean King Crimson has put out big boxes of 70's live material sourced from multitracks and soundboard cassettes. Even the soundboard ones sound really good and more importantly natural, not riddled with compression and autotune.
