TIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN [/i]
Ok, since this was born as a personal work, my original idea was to keep it for me. But since it turned out quite good, at least in my opinion, I decided to share it with you. It's a job I did on the video shared by Chief Mouse about one year ago. It only features Tie Your Mother Down, as it comes from the second video he shared, not from his own version. He claimed it is very close to the master tape, and the quality is truly good, but full of scratches and noise. My attempt was to reduce both of them, but I warn you, if you expect a job "à la Chief Mouse", well, I'm not as expert as him ;-) It's only a quick job I began in my spare time.

COMPARISON
PS: Even if it isn't noticeable on these screenshots, also the green flicker has been 80% removed ;-)
PS: Please share it on youtube ONLY IF you say that it's from QueenZone.
Enjoy!

Interesting how the produced version of the clip actually has a lot better detail in his face. I guess that information must have come from surrounding frame, temporal denoising?
DepeX · Member since
Yeah, I thought that this way I could achieve a good compromise between denoising and preserving detail.

Lol! If Sir Chief Mouse tells me that I've done a nice work, then I can go and die happily ;-) Anyway Chief, if you find any sketchy mistake, let me know, since this is one of my very first "serious" works!

Well, I can point out one which is slightly misleading :) The "Before" frame is 1 frame before the "After" frame (which is less blurry) hence Oscar's comment about detail (unless he said that after watching the video).
Other than that, nice work on the video. I messed with this one in past but couldn't remove all of the vertical scratches, DeScratch() is good but not as good as it could be :P I'll continue my task to find out a way to remove more scratches.

Ops, I posted the wrong 'after' screen. Anyway yes, DeScratch is good but not totally satisfying.

Very nice. Thanks. How it's possible the weight is so low and these little video noises aren't so compressed? Is it .mkv property?
And what is the password for source file?
queenside · Member since
thanks a lot for this but why are there 2 links? one is password protected, what's up with that? is the other one the one we should download?
alberbal12 · Member since
Original one can´t be downloaded, asking for a key :)

Indeed it is - you can trust me on this.
Thanks for improving it !
Could someone please raise the level of the audio? For some reason it's very quiet on the original.

.mkv is not an encoder but a container. So, the codec of the video inside is .h264 (mp4) and it´s a very efficient format indeed.
Thanks Deepex it looks faboulous!

Exactly. It could have been also mp4, the h264 is the important information you need.
