Sounds like one of the Wembley 1978 shows from the NOTW tour.
I always knew I was a star And now, the rest of the world seems to agree with me-Freddie Mercury
Wembley 78.

It's great the way he criticises the use of backing tapes but fails to say that they are not on stage when they are used.
It should read Empire Pool.
thanks guys
It is the 13th May of 1978 at London Empire Pool. The two previous nights at Empire Pool had WWRY-WATC as first encore and SHA-JR as second encore. Only the last night had the two encores swapped.

To be fair, they actually did for We Will Rock You at the beginning of the show.

I was there on the Saturday, the 13th. Sounds like the reviewer wasn't much of a Queen fan'cos it was a helluva night, but then I would say that wouldn't I ?
Master Marathon Runner
I was at two of these shows. Excessive, wild and brilliant nights.

I'd kill for good sounding tapes of them. These are some of the best shows they ever played.

yes that's true. must admit i had forgotten that. But it must be said that reading that review he does make it seem like baking tapes were in use for a great deal more than that.
