There was an mp3 file hosted here in the last year or so with a speech Brian did at some event, I think in the US (maybe at a university or something?) in or around 1993. It's about 45 minutes long, and part of his talk is about Queen's downfall in the US, with content not unlike this 1997 letter:

Can anyone post the file again?

Thanks in advance !

What a great and insightful read that letter is.....all pretty much stuff we know already, but delivered from 'the horse's mouth' so to speak, and clearly with some regret. I think the guy Brian talks about in Radio Ga Ga being effectively cast adrift in the US as a result of is Paul Prenter, and it seems that the band - and particularly Freddie and Jim Beach - only saw the extent of the issues once they tried to publicise Mr Bad Guy. Interesting to know for sure that Freddie definitely did dig his heels in on touring the US, and that they rest of them would have gone back even if to smaller venues; I'm glad that Brian and Roger have been able to successfully tour the US since and gain back some of that credibility and success.

Also interesting is that Brian (or his promoters!) suffered financially with his Back to the Light tour, and that his band at the time seemed despondent at that.

Do we know who the letter was to, other than 'an American admirer'?

Indeed it is ! Thanks a lot for posting.

Mediafire has really become a pain for file hosting, with all the spam (and probably malware). Mega.co.nz is the way to go for now.
