Hammy 79 - More HQ Footage

Of course. If they don't have the multitracks they won't be able to autotune (as if there's any need) Freddie's vocals and compress the drum sound to shit. The original mix works nicely.

Ahh Rio, I heard about the DVD release being a VHS Rip, very disappointing. We know Queen have the Multi-tracks for both nights. I would love to see an official release of the complete 1st night as Freddie was in great voice even though the band was a little under-rehearsed. That could be easily be tidied-up. The 2nd weekend's performance Fred sounds awful so I'm not bothered about that one.

Actually the impromptu from the 2nd night sounds great, and they don't mess up the transition to It's A Hard Life, but other than that I agree.

I was disappointed about the heavy handed compression on the Rainbow Blu-ray & CD. The Stereo Mix sounds very harhs where the peaks have been clipped and there simply is no need for it. The Surround mix was markedly better.

I hate it when people say "he has every right to do what he likes". Where does that leave us? No forum, no discussion etc. He has the right to do things and we have the right to comment on them.

I didn't realize there are two different mixes.

Which version had a 5.1 mix ? This is completely news to me.

The Rainbow DVD & Blu-ray feature a surround mix. A proper one as opposed the up-mix used for the Wembley gigs.
