If there's something the world doesn't need is another Queen symphonic album.

I think that nobody sees the point. Now, if on this disk, the best course on 4 CDs were rarities, that's when I appreciated this sense.

Queen Symphony by Tolga Kashif was brilliantly done. It still remains as the most moving and intelligent rendition of Queen's musical themes with orchestral arrangement. It is a great monument to Queen's abilities in the field of musical composition. Sad he didn't use any of the tracks from MIH.

Is this new release a re-packaging of the 80's album or these are brand new RPO arrangements ?

I have always appreciated the arranged versions of the RPO. Someone has already heard these new?
however, from what I have seen, better this CD (where someone has committed to renew something) than the usual heated soup (messenger of the gods), I suppose ....

Boring to see yet another symphonic collection of Queen songs? Yep - this will add nothing to the canon.

I'll ask, because I am curious... how the fuck does a symphony orchestra do We Will Rock You?! Presumably they are playing the vocal notes? The timpani player must be jizzing in his pants....

Heard it. It resembles these arrangements that are sometimes heard during events where tuxedo is obligatory and big band / jazz orchestra is playing popular arranged songs or standards. Hate to say it, but when I hear electric guitar in these arrangements I cringe. Why limit orchestra's abilities and make something easier even sounding cheap* (the playing of the guitar doesn't resemble the genius of our good doctor). That's why Tolga Kashif's vision is so cool, no guitars, no drums, but full orchestra, choir and percussion used in classical music.

Overall the album is mediocre, it is good for one listening. I'd even say that RPO's previous attempt at Queen's hits was better.

Nothing from "The Cosmos Rocks"?!

Well, the idea and concept of the cover and title is really cool looking and sounding.

Why whine? Don't like it, pass it by. Personally I've always been fond of these orchestral arrangements of classic rock tracks, so another album won't do much, if any, harm to anyone.
