"Elsewhere, the personal notebook in which Freddie Mercury wrote the
lyrics for some of rock band Queen's best known hits, including 'I Want
It All', 'Too Much Love Will Kill You', and 'The Show Must Go On', sold
for £62,500.

The notebook was used between 1988 and 1990,
while the singer battled the illness that led to his untimely death in
1991 at the age of 45."

Wonder who the collector is...

Also not sure which lyrics the notebook really contains, since Too Much Love Will Kill You and I Want It All were written by Brian May (and a couple of others in the case of the former). Freddie would have written at least some of The Show Must Go On's lyrics.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a collector, probably just an investor who will put it in a safe until it gains value.

Or, let's hope this doesn't happen, split the notebook and sell individual pages.

In the Queen lyrics book, published a few years ago, there are instances where Freddie transcribed lyrics for songs not written by him – especially Brian's songs. Considering Brian's handwriting was/is difficult to read, Freddie transcribing songs like 'I Want It All' and 'Too Much Love' isn't too implausible.

The singer always "writes" the lyrics he sings. No doubt a professional like Freddie Mercury would do it.
Who wants some prime jive ?

I don`t think that there is much room to grow. I might be wrong, but I don`t see future generations giving their arms and legs for hand- written Pages of an 70/80`s Pop- icon.
Time will tell.

Possible that Freddie wrote the lyrics for songs not actually written by him so that he could become familiar with them in his own handwriting before actually getting to sing them in the studio; maybe it was his way of making sure that he nailed them - almost as if the songs had been written by him.........

Costa86, I think that when we consider a collector, there's only one collector on the basket (most of the times). And surely is that guy. Yep.
Don't forget my collection of demos and outtakes: http://goo.gl/uQARhn PM me if you want any [leaked] multitrack. Ya se ven los tigres en la lluvia.

I KNOW for sure that there are more than ONE Collector with that amount of money on hands. So making a call on that is not as sure as you might think.
If you are having some inside informations on hands...ok...that would be a different story *.

* Wich doesn`t mean that I requesting these kind informations.
