Mercury's solo career began in 1984 with the release of the "Love kills" single and then went on to magnificent heights with the critically acclaimed "Mr. Bad Guy" (1985) and then his somewhat left-field but equally magical collaboration with Italian opera diva, Montserratt Cabballe "Barcelona". He was then to release sporadic singles and then a smash hit Number 1 with "Living On My Own" from "The Freddie Mercury Album" in 1992.
