I want the Flick Of The Wrist 12" version with the medley of other SHA songs edited in at the end :D
Actually - that can be my little project for tonight

Hi all, could somebody provide me with some more info on the first track on the second disc of the Hot Space Expanded Edition? The remix, not the 12'' one, by John Luongo.
I could not find any information on this one on the Queenvault website. I managed to find an interview from a couple of years back with John Luongo, but that one handles only the 12'' version. Also a topic on this forum about a Staying Power US Promo, but unfortunately the youtube link is dead...
Thank you!

Funny, I didn't notice that this version is undocumented. I had the regular extended remix beforehand (in nowhere as good quality as CMI's restored track) but I didn't check the short version. Is that present in the 12" promo?

As still no-one did, I will try to answer question about Staying Power:
Back in 1982 John Luongo was asked by Bob Krasnow (head of Elektra Records) and Queen to create new mix of this song for possible single release.
There are 3 versions of this track were prepared by John in Sigma Sound Studios in New York. They are normal length (4:14) remix, extended remix (5:50) and instrumental remix (4:14).
Unfortunately something went wrong and nothing was released commercially. Probably because of fair sales of all "Hot Space" products and tour in US.
Only Extended Remix was released on US promo 12" single and still officially can be found only there.
All 1/4 inch tapes still in possession of John so hopefully sometime in the future all there versions will be properly released.
Track 1 on CD 2 of "Hot Space - EC" is the edit of the extended remix made by me to emulate the original normal length remix by John Luongo. He liked it!
About Sheer Heart Attack:
I'm sorry but it's still a long way to go... There's a lot of mixing work ahead.
Now original Dutch 'Killer Queen 7" single and 'Keep Yourself Alive' 7" US single in my possession, so there will be some additional work with standalone versions.

Thanks for the explanation. Very clear. Let´s hope some day all John Luongu remixes see the light of day, but untill then, we´ll have to do with your interpretation of it. Which is very good by the way.
Looking forward to the Expanded Sheer Heart Attack. Now you´re in possession of the two 7" singles, it already promises some nice extra's.

I was having a bit of 404 trouble when downloading Made In Heaven. Anyone experiencing a similar issue?
cmi · Member since
Yes, it was accidentaly deleted by me.
Here's a new 'Made In Heaven' details file...
BTW, artwork was recently updated for this album.

First of all, thanks for this huge collection of tracks.
I was checking my old hard disk and i discovered a few lossless demos. I used Trader LIttle Helper to see if they´re real lossless and yes...
So I´ve got a lossless version o all rough mixes of the second CD of Hot Space.
CMI, do you want them to do a quick update?
cmi · Member since
Please contact me via PM with the link for downloadto them. I'll check them out.
Actually every lossy file can be processed for pretending to be lossless...

Could we have a little update on how Sheer Heart Attack is going? I can't wait to hear the work you have done on the album. It baffles me to think that a fan is doing a better job of presenting the albums than QPL themselves.
