I was there too - an amazing day. (I was also near to where the stabbing happened but didn't find out they'd died until much later)
They? According to the official information just one guy got stabbed and died. Do you remember some more details about the incident?
They can be used about a single person too :) Just to clarify.

I'd actually refute the comments made by the St Johns Ambulance - I was in the guest enclosure and there was an inner fence and outer kept apart by struts at angles. There was a roadie in between the fences with a headset close to me and as I was watching him he suddenly leapt into action as he'd obviously just been told the news over the headset. He began jumping over the struts as fast as possible further down towards the corner of the enclosure and away from the stage. Then I saw they had dismantled the fence in that corner and an ambulance was reversed across the enclosure to that corner. I saw two St Johns ambulance men supporting the guy out of the crowd and into the ambulance. He walked out so I was very sad to hear he'd died later.
We were all held up when we were in the buses going back to Milton Keynes station - the police got on each bus and went up and down looking for people. It was only when I found out later he'd died I realised it was connected.
It is possible that it took quite some time to get to the guy in the crowd but once they had got him to the fence, they got him out very fast and he got medical treatment. The crew wasted no time and were very fast and very professional.
